You cannot get through the end of the year without a recount of what's happened somewhere. A few examples are: Yahoo! has several categories of Top 10's from Top 10 Searches to the Most Heroic Acts; MSNBC reviews News-Making Deaths of the past year; Time Magazine picks Person of the Year.
Your Year in Review
Why don't you make a "2011 Year in Review" list of what happened in your career? You can create your own top 10 list, from scratch, or you can use the following as a guide (in no particular order) to help generate your list:
Clarified what you want to be known for
Completed an honest self assessment
Reviewed strengths and made note of areas of opportunities
Obtained feedback
